Watch this.
If you didn't watch the whole thing, which I understand, go back and watch it again.
Are we all set? Are you sufficiently scarred?
Good.
I've been blogging about so many lame things lately, I decided to shake things up. Because the fact is, I have a lot of things to say about Rebecca Black.
Lately I've become somewhat addicted to Twitter. Not so much for tweeting everything I say and do, but more for staying informed, and the occasional hopeless "Please follow me!" to @justinbieber. I've also asked him to take me to prom this way several times too. He will reply.
Anyways, Rebecca Black has been a trending topic on Twitter for the past 2 weeks. She has lasted longer than Japan AND Charlie Sheen! But why?
The truth is, the music industry has been throwing out more and more garbage over the years. But as you just saw, Rebecca Black's new song Friday EASILY takes the cake. So this is what I thought of the video.
It starts out looking like one of those tacky shows about middle school...you know the ones we all watched in 6th grade and thought they were SO cool? Another note. As far as I have been informed, Ark Music Factory is a place that gets a bunch of pre tweens who want the fame and fortune that comes with being an overrated pop star, they crank out a cheesy music video, and then upload it to YouTube hoping for overnight success. They finally scored with Rebecca Black, not because she was talented, but because she was so frikin horrible!
I'll just continue...she starts singing a few "oh ohs" and a few "yeah yeahs" and you wonder "oh my heck, who just broke the autotune machine?" (according to her twitter, no autotune was involved in the making of this video. It is all her own voice. Scary, huh?) And then she starts singing actual words. Mostly she is naming off things she's 'gotta' have...a bowl, cereal, lookin fresh, and then she runs out to the bus stop.
This is one of the parts that most of the media has a lot to say about. She sees her 11 year old friends, all driving a convertable for some odd reason. I think it goes without saying that her friends are clearly too young to be driving. And she sings about making her mind up - should she go with her friends, or take the bus? How hard of a decision is that? Really? They are driving a convertable! What do you think you should do!
All this song really showed me was that Rebecca Black is the most undecisive person on the planet. She also sings about sittin in the front seat, and kickin in the back seat. Which seat should she take?? Well, since there are already two people sitting in the front, and it's a convertable, that really only leaves the back seat open...right?
This is why 11 year olds shouldn't drive. Clearly, they can't even count.
And then comes the infamous chorus. FRIDAY FRIDAY GOTTA GET DOWN ON FRIDAY EVERYBODY'S LOOKIN FORWARD TO THE WEEKEND WEEKEND.
Oh, my gosh. I now know what song I'll have stuck in my head for the next few Fridays. Also, she looks like she is in pain everytime she says weekend. Juss sayin.
FUN FUN FUN.
The next scene shows her, at night, standing up in the back seat of the convertable, talking about driving on the highway.
WHAT!
Girl! If you are driving on the highway in a convertable, you don't want to be standing up! You don't even need to be passing physics to know that! Then she starts singing "I got this you got this" Got what? "You know what it is!" No, I don't. And clearly, neither do you. She then explains to us that her friend is by her right. Oh, I didn't know that. I was really wondering who that random 11 year old is. Now I'm REALLY curious about who the random 11 year old on her LEFT is. But mostly I'm curious about why they are 11 and dressed like sluts.
Honestly, a lot of the lyrics she says in this part don't make any sense. It's mostly yelling a lot of random words, which left me pretty confused. I got what? I know what what is? Why are you standing up in the back of a moving convertable? Being driven by someone 5 years too young to have a license? Then she tells us that she is sittin in the back seat. No! No! You aren't! And again, she asks us which seat she should take. Aren't you already in the back seat? I'm confused.
Then her and her friends show up at some party packed with more fancy cars and more slutty 11 year olds. What is going on here?!
Except this part is possibly the best part of the entire video. Here, she educates us on the days of the week. She fails to realize that we, unlike her, learned the days of the week soon after we were born. So she explains to us that yesterday was Thursday, and that today is Friday (which I'm sure nobody had picked up from the rest of the video until now). She also tells us that "we we we so excited." Which probably made every grammar nazi scream with rage. Then she tells us that tomorrow is Saturday, and Sunday comes afterwards. Thanks for clearing that up...I really had no idea.
Next, this random black guy starts rapping. This reminded me of Justin Bieber, how he always has some famous black man rap for his songs. Except for one minor difference. Justin Bieber has Ludacris, Usher, and Sean Kingston. Rebecca Black has her dad. (I kid you not, she confirmed it on Twitter.)
The next part is mostly her alternating from standing by a tree and singing for her friends, and standing in a strangely lit room doing what sounds like an attempt at singing, but mostly sounds like her voice is cracking while she is being stabbed. She sings the chorus about 7 times, so with a song that already emphasises repetition, it's like a double dose of WHEN WILL THIS BE OVER.
And then finally, it ends.
Overall, the video mostly scared me into thinking "what is really happening to the music industry? They can't honestly call this talent." It also looked like the entire video had been picnik-ed.
Mostly, I really hope this is one of those YouTube videos that people laugh at for a while, and gets really popular and everybody knows about it, but then within a few weeks it blows over and everybody forgets about it. Kind of like the Numa Numa guy. Remember him?
Many people are calling her the next Justin Bieber, to which I reply: Good heavens, no. I really hope she never gets as famous as him. If people think he is bad, Rebecca Black would be the death of our already crippled music industry.
Aaaaand yeah. That's all I really have to say about that.
Peace!

Blogging Basketball/Volleyball Co-ed: Part 11
Um.........
Okay. Today was like a smoothie, or maybe a salad. Nah, it was more like a smoothie.
What I mean to say is, it was a well blended combination of both good and bad things.
Except there aren't bad things in a smoothie. Okay today was more like a salad.
A surprise salad! Kind of like when you order a salad, expecting it to suck, and there are strawberries in it. And croutons...and cucumbers.
I once had the most delicious strawberry salad before. It was a salad, but it had strawberries in it.
I could blog about all the salads I've had. But I won't. I'm getting WAAAAAAAAY too off topic here.
Ahem.
First to address my prediction from last time. Tournament, team of boys, end up making us lose...yeah.
Okay. I was right on all accounts except for one. We did play a tournament thingy. And I was indeed on a team of all guys. And yes, we lost every single game. Except!!! It wasn't my fault this time! :O
At least I don't think it was.
I never would have guessed it, but I am not half bad at soccer. That is to say, I scored most of the goals for my team. In fact I scored all of them except for two. So either this means my team really sucked at soccer, or I have mad skills that have lain dormant until now.
Or a mixture of both...
Anyways...we played outside on the turf. A few words about the turf.
Actually, can I just take a moment to vent about football players? Ok ok I won't.
Turf: Why did our school buy an astro turf anyways? Or as long as we are going to spend money on sports, maybe we should fix the soccer fields and the tennis courts. No? Okay. Hmmm I wonder if our new principal will do that. Not that it matters.
Wow, I'm having so much trouble staying focused today. Okay so basically, we played on the turf because the soccer fields were soggy. And I didn't mind playing on the turf, except that if when I fell, and scraped my knee, it hurt like a mother. But that's pretty much it.
Actually that isn't the only reason I got hurt. Ok so it was like super cold outside when we played. I'm talking so cold that penguins were starting to migrate over to watch us play. Luckily I had my warm up, but I was still wearing shorts, and I was losing the feeling in my legs every second. So when our goalie drop kicked the ball, and it hit my leg..........
ow.
I ended up jumping around trying to keep warm for most of the games, and if the ball came to me I would do something with it. Like scoring a goal.
Speaking of which, I know what I want my future career to be. I want to be the person, at the world cup, who yells
GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's gonna be me.
Back to the salad.
Today was good, because it contained me not sucking at soccer as much as I thought I would. But today was bad because I got hurt, and it was cold.
In other words, today was like a salad because it contained cucumbers, but it also contained tomatoes and salad dressing.
Does that make sense?
Good!
Peace!

Blogging Basketball/Volleyball Co-ed: Part 10
Before we begin...
I haven't been as faithful to this blog as I had originally hoped for. But I have some pretty good excuses. First, it's end of term. Second, nothing interesting has really happened.
I know that 'interesting' is a word that gets thrown around a lot, and sometimes something interesting is all a matter of perspective. That's why my life is so interesting. Because I have a vivid perspective.
What?
Okay onto the blog. Today in Basketball/Volleyball Co-ed (or yesterday, lets keep this simple, people.) there was a definite lack of basketball. There was also a significant lack of volleyball...
Quick note on that: I am so, SO glad the volleyball unit is over. I don't think I've ever been worse at a sport in my life. Seriously. Why didn't I blog? Because the last few days I've literally just stood on the court, praying that the ball won't come to me, because if it does, I know I will hit it out. THEN I'll end up getting my team mad, and then I'll feel bad, and yeah. So I'm glad volleyball is over. I think it would be a really fun sport...if I was able to play it.
AH I WANT TO PLAY TENNIS SO BAD!!!!!
Ok ok whew. So we started our soccer unit. Quick background on my soccer experience. So I played on a little team...in second grade. So like...9 years ago. And I usually tried to play goalie, and I did pretty deece...but I got like negative playing time. In other words, 9 years ago I wasn't very good at soccer.
So now in 2011, I don't think things'll be much different. But when we did our drills today I actually did pretty good! Kind of...okay...yeah.....
Most of this is up for interpretation. Mostly, I'm very anxious to see how this soccer unit goes.
Can I make a prediction?
Prediction: I will be put on a team with several guys, who are a lot bigger than me. Then I will end up sucking at life, and probably cost us the game. We will have a round robin...and I will be the only girl on the team. Yep, that pretty much sums it up. If I'm right, I owe me a cake.
Not really.
Peace!

Man Post Teaser Trailer
Yeah, I am writing this on my iPod. In case you were wondering.
If you've ever seen a movie trailer, then that should give you a good idea of what an upcoming post is going to be like. I can't write it though, until Matt has written his. That way I'll have a good understanding of how I can match his post but make it better because, well, that's what I do. Heh heh love ya Matt!
See, he is writing a girl post.
And I am writing a MAN post.
For a while now, I've wanted to write about the many man things that have cropped up in my life. Opinions, angst, questions. I've had so many ideas for a good post about guys, but I've just never really gotten around to it.
However, if I smash all of these ideas into one big, epic post, then it won't seem like I only ever blog about guys, cuz it'll be one post, and I won't have to go into detail on everything, and...yeah. So without further ado, here are some of the things you will see in my upcoming MAN post.
My DENNIS story: (for some quick clarification, it wasn't a full On DENNIS. it was just a...Thingy.)
My 48 things list...idea.
List of universal tips for men.
FAQ FOR MEN.
And possibly a vent-rant about...men.
So, be excited. Because this is going to be epic.
Peace!

February: A Month in Review
Disclaimer: This post is bound to get seriously off track. I have a lot on my mind, you see.
To start, I'm giving February a 5.5 out of 10. That extra .5 was added on the last 3 days when I felt like my life took a serious turn for the better. For no apparent reason. Maybe a mood change, whatever.
February wasn't really bad. But it wasn't really good either.
A lot did happen this month, except I wasn't really a part of it. Kind of.
Sadly enough, February was the month of "Kaela sits at home while all her friends do things that she really wants to do but doesn't get to." which is horrible and pessimistic and sad, which really isn't what February was, but it kind of shaped out to be that way.
Lets just do this:
The Bad:
A. About 99% of my friends went to California and did everything I've been dreaming of doing since I was little and small...together, and talked about it pretty much 24/7 until they got back. And, as I have never been to Disneyland, or any of those fun places in S. California, I wished I could have gone. But whatever, I don't really care.
B. Then pretty much all my friends went to the Sweethearts dance. And I'm pretty indifferent about this one. Not to say it was a bad thing for them, because I'm super happy for all of them, because I love them mucho, but I kind of wish I could have gone. But whatever, I'll have opportunities in...later years.
C. I tried my first attempt at D.E.N.N.I.S-ing. And it went horribly awry. (See the Once Upon A Dennis blog for details on what the heck a dennis is, anyways) I really want to blog about this experience, but as I posted in my Blogging Basketball/Volleyball Co-ed Part 9.5, I'm kind of paranoid about what would happen if the wrong people found this blog. A person you've D.E.N.N.I.S-ed would most definitely read your blog. Therefore, this has cause for concern. And if you are reading this right now, and you think you have been D.E.N.N.I.S-ed by me, then you are wrong. It is not you. I promise. .....
The Good:
A. I didn't really sit at home alone like a bum all month. While everyone and their dog was on tour, Matt, Kat, and I were proud members of the "make everyone jealous" group. We participated in eating sex burgers (except us 3 didn't, but everyone else did), sonic, Hercules, random mall parties, bath and body works (where we discovered the best ever smelling hand sanitizers) and seeing Tangled for the 4th time for me, 2nd for Kat, and 1st for Matt. And it was quite a bit of fun.
B. This is hardly applicable. But while everyone was at Sweethearts, I worked all day. And nothing really happened except I saw the hottest man I have ever seen in my life, and took a creepy picture of him. That's right, I know, I'm a creeper. But he looked exactly like Hercules. You would have taken a picture too, don't deny it.
C. I started tennis lessons, which are super expensive, but I'm glad to be back on my feet...literally. I played in a tournament, which I might blog about, and I haven't been doing so well but that's what I get for not playing for 5 months.
D. I fell in love...with Justin Bieber. I saw his movie, and I fell madly in love with him. And now everyone hates me for it, but it's okay, because love conquers all.
And last, but not least:
E. I tried my first attempt at D.E.N.N.I.S-ing someone. And it was so, SO FUNNY. Somehow, someway, I will find a way to blog about it.
But the best part? This February, I had (count it) ZERO problems with a lot of the things I had problems with last month. School (getting great grades!); Boys (Dennis doesn't count as a problem, Dennis counts as a sport.); Tennis (mm yeah I'm playing again :)) etc. etc. etc. And at the end of the month, (this is gonna sound dumb) I kind of came to peace with, well, everything. I just have a better outlook on life, I love everything, and I just kind of feel like nobody can bring me down! Ha!
Now for March. What will it entail? Here are a few predictions:
I will probably see Tangled again.
I will also probably see Justin Bieber again.
(Hopefully) I will get hired at Jamba Juice. Or Good Earth. Or 7 Peaks, as a supervisor. Or...CEO of Apple. I sent them an email...but they haven't replied yet. I wonder why.
I will play 2 tennis tournaments...which will be fun.
I will celebrate St. Patricks day. By considering wearing green, but then opting out.
I will probably ask to MORP.
But most of all, I will have so much fun, and live every day like it is a party.
I should also finish up my DENNIS. Right now, I'm on "S" and it's kind of tricky....
Peace!
